Florida! Oh Sunny Florida how we miss you so much so soon!

We just got back from a great trip to Florida.  The weather was warm and the sun was shining.  The temperature ranged from about 70-85 during the day and in the 60's at night.  We spent a few days in Ft. Lauderdale which was very nice.  We had a oceanfront balcony room.  After Dylan would go to bed we would enjoy a bottle of wine and some dessert on our balcony.  Dylan did pretty well except for the fact that the ocean scared him and he was not a fan of the sand  either.  So, we ended up taking a lot of walks while carrying him and sometimes we would take his stroller.  After Ft. Lauderdale we drove over to Estero where my Grandma lives during the cold Minnesota winter.  We had a very relaxing time.  She even watch Dylan a couple days so we could catch a few Orioles baseball games.  Shane and I spent a good bit of time at the pool; primarily when Dylan was napping or after he went to bed.  Dylan loves his stroller, so we took a lot of walks and would let him out of the stroller to play.  One of the ponds nearby had a alligator in it...speaking of alligator, one of the restaurants we went to we tried a little alligator.  I thought it was a little salty but not bad.  We had lots of good food and good sun!  There was so much more but I will just list pictures instead of rambling on about it...

Ft. Lauderdale...outside of our hotel

He was so upset about the ocean he got his binkie.

Checking out the sand...unfortunately he did not like it.

Relaxing on the balcony

Our hotel...our room was on the top floor and we had  a great view.

Yes, he was lathered in sunscreen!

Baby Feet!! So cute!!

Shane and Dylan walking in the water

Tried to see if he would like the sand everyday and no mater his mood he still didn't.

But, he did love playing by the pool and climbing on all of the chairs.  During the later portion of the day the hotel would have a band by the pool and Dylan would stand there and just be amazed...his dancing was pretty cute too.

He thought foot prints were funny.
Acting shy by his Great Grandma...luckily he got over that in about 2 minutes.

Outside of Grandma's house

He just couldn't keep away from those rocks.

Giving Daddy a big hug.

He learned how to climb up on her chairs and they would rock back and forth which kept him busy for a while.

Looking for lizards...here he saw one climb into that hole.

There were tons of these little lizards.  Dylan would try to chase after them once he spotted one.

During a walk Dylan went over the these palms and started shaking them.  He was in awe that he could shake a whole tree and the leaves would move.

Splashing in the bird bath.
Playing on the bike rack.

Grandma was trying to show him how to ride it...but as you can see in the next picture he thought it was easier to just pick it up.  He would get frustrated because his feet would hit the front and back tires unlike the one we have at home.

I thought at first, oh how cute he is running from tree to tree, but then he started to go from tree to tree riping the bark off.

Shane and I at the Orioles stadium in Sarasota.  The just got done renovating it and it is so nice.  We had front row tickets which made it even better!

I tried hard to get a cute picture of Dylan and his Great Grandma but unfortunately he was not in compliance.  I'm glad Grandma thought it was funny.

Two Months!

Two Months!...I can't believe that it has been two months since I posted.  We have been so busy with work and work around the house.  I recently painted our bathroom and it looks so much better.  We are getting a little sick of looking at our plain walls so we have decided to start room by room and get painting.  I never realized how much time it takes to paint, but the payoff is worth it.  I have to run to pick Dylan up from daycare so here some pictures!

He can't wait for his own pair of pontoons!

His favorite car.

Cuddle time with Daddy before bedtime.

Dylan loves his peanutbutter and jelly...

yes he does..

...and he loves to get it everywhere!  Silly boy.

Pasta is another favorite and a mandatory dinner meal because a bath is always necessary, as you can see.

New Years and Dylan Skiing!

We all had a pretty good New Years.  Nothing like pre-baby but still good and much more relaxing.  We had some friends over for good food and drinks.  Dylan decided to wake up around 11:30pm and have a little fun with us.  He was so tired but wouldn't fall back asleep.  He looked as if he were sleep walking.

Shane and I took Dylan skiing for his first time in our front yard.  He looked so cute with all of his gear on!  He had fun while I pushed him around on his skis.  He tried to walk in his skis and thought that was very funny.  Later this winter we are going to take him to Snowbird or Alta.  He thought the snow is pretty fun too! Especially when he tries to through it at Cash.  Although he did do a face plant in the snow when he was playing in the snow so that concluded our snow day.

putting on a show.

Here is when he woke up at 11:30 pm, partying it up!

Silly boy!  Rosie from my work made this adorable hat.

First day of skiing, 14 months old.

He loves it!

Christmas Fun!

We have had a great Christmas.  The week after Thanksgiving we went to the local lot and got our tree.   We had a fun time picking out our Charlie Brown tree!  I think Dylan liked looking at the Reindeer.  I drove past this place a couple weeks before and the reindeer had antlers but by the time we went, their antlers had fallen off.  Oh well, the pictures are still cute.  I was amazed by how small and aggressive they are.  I figured that they were the size of a elk.

We had a interesting visit to Cabelas.  Dylan and I went to Cabelas to do some shopping for Shane and I decided it would be fun to have Dylan's picture taken with Santa.  I got there a few minutes after Santa was there and the line was so long.  I thought it would go quickly but after 30 minutes we were almost there.  Yep, I waiting with a busy little 14 month old, bad idea.  By the time we got to Santa Dylan was so over it all he did was cry.  One of the Santa pictures he is crying and the other he has a binkie in his mouth...oh well...I tried...

Our Christmas day went very smoothly and uneventful.  In the morning I made coffee and we had sticky buns that I had made the night before.  Oh so good!  Dyan's Christmas present to us was letting us sleep in until 8:15a.m.  We enjoyed the morning and afternoon lounging around.  It was so fun to watch Dylan open up his presents.  He loved picking up the boxes and moving them around.  Every few presents he would actually get intrigued, but mostly he liked the paper and the boxes.  We cooked dinner for our friends and then I went to work for the night.

Below are some pictures from the last few weeks.

Dylan and the reindeer at the tree lot where we got our tree.

Waiting for Santa at Cabelas.

About 20 minutes later...still waiting...Dylan having some juice.

Christmas morning...yay...boxes!

So happy!

Dylan finally able to open his own presents...and ours!

checking out one of his new toys.

Jess and Dylan opening presents...Dylan just loved to crawl into all of the boxes.

I love this hat!  Thanks Aunt Karen

Dylan got his first pair of skis this Christmas!!!

Can't you just see the little skier in him?!?!

Dylan loves going to Home Depot and riding in these carts.

Such a happy little boy...we love him so much!!

He is on the MOVE!!!

He is on the move, everywhere!  Dylan is now walking and he loves it.  We have are adjusting to more and more babyproofing.  Dylan loves try to get into any cabinet or door that he can.  He still falls down but not nearly as much.  Speaking of the baby himself...another thing is new too, not sleeping through the night.  He has been such a good kid when it comes to sleeping and lately he likes to wake up and just cries.  We have tried the cry it out method...sometimes it works and other times not so much.  Well here are some pictures, I have got to go see if I can get this little monkey to sleep, again...Oh yeah, Dylan got his first hair cut today.  Smiling, crying, snuggling...that is about the order it was.

Grandma and Dylan

Ready for the cold!

I'm walking and I'm everywhere!

My first haircut..started out with daddy...
